Who We Are
The Storied Table is founded by award winning cookbook author, educator and chef Jody Eddy who has spent years discovering, researching and writing about the world’s diverse culinary traditions. Her recent cookbook, Elysian Kitchens, published by W.W. Norton in 2024, explores the culinary traditions of monasteries, temples, mosques and synagogues throughout the world. Her cookbook Eat Like a Monk from Simon & Schuster, also published in 2024, is inspired by Buddhist temples throughout Asia. These books were the inspiration for The Storied Table.
Ann Goody is a chef, educator and previously founder of Philly Cooking Lessons, where she inspired home cooks to foster community and connect through food. She currently serves as the Director at the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Villanova University, designing and leading programs that foster creativity, cross-disciplinary collaboration and venture development.
How We Met
Jody and Ann met during culinary school at Manhattan’s Institute of Culinary Education. One of their favorite traditions at school was preparing and then sitting down to enjoy the daily family meal. It was at the family meal table, over dishes prepared by fellow students from around the world, that they became fast friends.
They have shared many global culinary adventures over the past twenty years. The Storied Table is the one they’re most excited about because it’s an opportunity to build community with everyone who joins them to enjoy unforgettable meals at the tables of the world’s most extraordinary places.
